Cake: To save or not to save
With so many brides now traveling long distance to and from their wedding
sites, the increase in destination weddings and changing traditions, what
was once always done has become a choice for brides now.
Are you planning to save your top layer of your wedding cake or do you plan
to order a small duplicate from the bakery for your one year anniversary?
There is no right or wrong answer, it's based on your preference. If you do
decide to save the top layer here are some tips on how to preserve it.
1. Completely freeze the cake for one full day without wrapping it in the box.
This will help prevent any damage to the design when you wrap it.
2. Wrap the cake with plastic wrap as tight as possible without damaging the
cake. Do as many layers as you can. Finally wrap the cake with aluminum foil
and place it back in the box.
3. Keep your cake in the freezer until a day before your anniversary and defrost
it slowly in the refrigerator.
