Thinking Green

Now that Earth Day has come and gone, do you think about what you can do each
day to make a difference? Being a mother of two school age boys and being involved
in their activities at school, it becomes very commonplace to "do our part" and keep
the mentality that one person can make a difference.

So what have we done as a permanent change? We now use our ceramic plates for
breakfast, lunch and dinner and have all but eliminated the paper plates we readily
used for years. That was a really simple change.

I read a staggering statistic in the paper about how many water bottles are not
recycled. We go through a lot of water bottles each day and simply changed to
refillable bottle for the boys at school and myself daily. We have reduced empty
water bottles even more so than the paper plates.

We are still using the great fabric bags from Randall's and Target and recycling the
plastic bags we do have when we forget the other bags in the car. I hate it when
I do that!

It may not seem like a lot, but when you are teaching children, leading by example
is very important and after all every little bit does help.

What can you do to make a difference?

Enjoy your day!
