NEAWP conference

We had a great time at the NEAWP conference the last week of October
with a full day of speakers and many shining star vendors showcasing
their fantastic services.

I was the opening speaker the morning of the event. I focused a lot on
being yourself as a planner in order for brides to find the right fit. We
are all very different and so are our brides. Brides want a planner who
has done all they can to continue growing their education in the wedding
industry, who has a good sense of balance and the ability to resolve a
stressful situation. If a planner isn't "feeling the love" in their career,
they need to move on so their unhappiness or anxiety doesn't spill over
into their bride's wedding. This career is not for everyone.

I spoke quite a bit about avoiding negativity and finding peace internally
because it truly makes you a stronger person. It's not easy to separate
yourself from negative people, especially when they are part of your
family or a friend you have known a very long time. It was a great
chance to meet many men and women in the Texas wedding industry.
Here are some photos from the breakfast meeting.

The beautiful Maximilian room at the Driskill Hotel.

Verbena Floral had the most beautiful glass ornaments that hung from
the taller centerpiece. They had a unique fall feel.

All the guests had my favorite Promises chocolates so they could
find their own inspiring message.

The show stopper cake from Simon Lee for the conference.

Thank you for the vendors who helped make my morning a delight:
