Austin's Four Seasons Summer Wedding

I love waking up to an amazing note from a recent bride and then to have a highlight
video from the photographer as well makes for a perfect start to a day! Thank you, Page.

Hi Barbara!

I can't believe it's been a month since you orchestrated such a lovely wedding that Wes
and I will always cherish!  Words can't express the happiness I felt the entire day. As
you know, I'm a detail-orientated person. I appreciate you replying to my numerous
e-mails in a timely manner! You patiently answered all the annoying questions my
parents and I asked during the planning process. We couldn't have planned my perfect
wedding without you, Barbara! Everyone LOVES Austin! You were right regarding our
mini-destination wedding to the city we love. I had no idea so many of our friends and
family across the country would travel to Austin for our wedding. We shouldn't have
doubted you about numbers. It was an affair to remember....

Thank you for keeping my Dad's singing debut a secret. Wow! Memphis Train was
amazing. I've always dreamed of a wedding with everyone dancing the night away, but
never imagined my Dad with a microphone singing on stage. That memory will stay with
me forever! The moment we first spoke on the phone and you mentioned that blue
hydrangeas were your favorite flowers was the moment I knew we'd click. Flower Bucket
created exquisite floral arrangements that looked amazing with the Four Seasons linens.
Yara's chair covers and table toppers accompanied the linens perfectly. People still rave
about the delicious food served during the reception. When I think back to the numerous
picture e-mails I sent you from our tasting, I laugh! You eased my nerves about wanting
everything perfect.

What do you think about your first time working with Tony Ku? I'm relieved Wes' MBA friend
referred Tony to be our photographer. He went above and beyond traveling to Dallas for my
bridal portrait, extending our time during the engagement session in Austin because the
lighting outside was "perfect" and uploading more than a thousand pictures from our wedding
day. Oh my!  He created a 10-minute wedding slide show showcasing our special day:

You were right regarding the soft blue lights from ILIOS lighting. I'm glad we opted to do blue
lighting over champagne. It highlighted the floral arrangements on the pretty linens. Wes and I
have been consumed with work since we returned from Fiji. We plan to view the rest of the
pictures Tony uploaded onto his website this weekend.

I apologize for not sending your thank-you e-mail earlier. It's been a little overwhelming with my
new role/new curriculum at school, changing my name and composing thank-you notes to our
wedding guests. You will be receiving a formal thank-you soon, but wanted you to know I still
smile when I think of August 7, 2010.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Your checklists were PERFECT!  I felt prepared and organized during the entire wedding process!

I hope your boys are enjoying the start of a new school year!
Happy Labor Day weekend,
Page

P.S. My sister uploaded my Dad's tribute song to youtube. I kinda regret not hiring a videographer,
but Tony did an exceptional job capturing every moment. Lighting was more important than a
videographer, right???http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szGz-iWd7nw

All I can say is WOW. I couldn't have paid Page to comment on more of my favorite tips that I share
with my brides.  Even though all my brides and their weddings are unique, there are many tried and
true situations that I am more familiar with than a bride and her family. We see things at the majority
of weddings we plan that I share with every bride. The most common:

1. Unfortunately, Austin is a HUGE destination location. We live in an amazing city and the majority
of your guests are going to come. We HAVE to plan for 90% attending. I am the "what if" queen. So,
if your venue only holds 200, but you know everyone won't come please don't invite 250 people.
What will you do if 230 guests reply yes? You can not depend on guests not traveling to Austin. If
you invite them they may just come, darn it! If your budget and venue capacity will be impacted by a
higher guest count invite less for your sanity's sake invite what you are okay with coming.

2. I am open to working with new vendors and those not on my preferred vendor's list, but I am going
to research them and make sure we are prepared for any surprises. I was very grateful for the end
results with Page's vendors. Everyone did a fantastic job!

3. Trust your planner. If you have trouble taking her advice then you didn't hire the right planner for your
personality and design style. When it came to the lighting, all her attendants were steering her towards
a champagne color that was very pretty. Ilios even did 1/2 the room in soft blue and 1/2 the room in the
champagne to show the bride the difference. Exceptional effort. Her colors were pale blue and soft
green which I did not think were incorporated enough in the reception. I was so relieved when she
decided on the soft blue. It was perfect for the room and made a huge impact on the over all feel of
the reception.

4. Page hired me for our Wedding Advisor service and having access to my vendor information, style
comments by phone and e-mail made a very big difference for Page living out of town and planning
long distance. Four Season's catering manager left a month before this wedding, but having me
consistently available for the countless questions makes my day of service invaluable when it begins
3 1/2 months before the wedding even when there is an on site catering manager.

5. When you are on a budget, it's sometimes difficult to make the right choices in what you can or
can't have for your wedding. It comes down to a discussion about what makes the biggest difference
to you, what will you truly regret and where is there wiggle room within the budget. It is in situations
like this that hiring an Austin wedding planner with experience is imperative. When you start
interviewing wedding planners in Austin, make sure you hire one that is familiar with the venues, the
vendors and what the end result will look like. You need to have complete confidence in the wedding
planners ability to carry out your vision.

Such a great wedding, thanks again Page for sending over your comments,
Barbara
