Remembering Pearl Harbor
December 7, 1941 a day which will live in infamy...
I read an amazing article in the paper about two Texas men in their 80s
at the same retirement home, who were both on the same battleship
Phoenix during the Pearl Harbor attack and that will be traveling back
to Pearl Harbor together to mark the anniversary of Dec. 7, 1941 when
their ship was attacked along with so many in the early morning hours
of that fateful day. So long ago, but the memories and emotions come
flooding back as though it was yesterday. The documentation from that
day re-create all that happened a little well.
My family is planning a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, but we want to
make a trip over to Honolulu so our boys can see and experience the
USS Arizona Memorial first hand. If you have never been and have the
opportunity to visit Hawaii make it a point to visit and pay your respects.
Remember those who fight for our freedom each day and those
who have paid the ultimate price.
