Military couple
thank you note from one of your couples. I'm waiting for the professional
photos but I have a few snap shots to share along with their note.
This wedding was a first for me since I didn't meet the couple until the
week of the wedding. We communicated by phone, but mostly e-mail due
to Mary's long hours and restricted military schedule. Her budget was
small and I needed to convert my thinking to the small, town feeling they
really wanted which included the groom's uncle doing the BBQ for the
reception and keeping the location it in Bastrop so all the family could come.
The bride knew what was most important to her and she needed a planner to
bring those ideas together. One of the most important things to her was her
wedding cake. She had designed each layer, sketched it out and needed a
bakery to bring it to life. Michelle's Patisserie took the bride's photo and was
able to re-create just what the bride wanted.
Barbara, Ma’am,
Thank you so, so, so much for my wedding! About a year ago, I gave you a challenge: A small budget small town Bastrop TX wedding where the bride lives in Ohio, the groom in Kansas/Iraq (deployed) and neither would be in TX till a couple days before the wedding. And you took that information and said “No problem. It will be great.” I knew then you were the coordinator for us. Every worry, question, or idea I had, you always responded with a calming email and a plan for how to make it work. Even when we couldn’t seem to find a reception location, you were there coming up with new ideas and even more creative ways of making it work. Then when I told you that the groom would be in a kilt and my father would be the priest, you accepted that as if it was perfectly normal- that gave me complete confidence in you. Likewise, my father (with his youngest and first daughter to get married) contacted you a few times worried or budget minded, and you made him calm and assured (which is an extremely impressive feat I assure you). Everything from my design of the cake to my grooms multiple sets of parents was simple to you; your experience and wisdom was a gift beyond thanks and made my night perfect, beautiful, and timeless.
The wedding and reception was gorgeous. I appreciate how despite my distance you always consulted me on the details making sure I was still part of the process. Also I appreciate your constant effort to get the most efficient prices with the best results. In the end it was your brilliant imagination and wonderful team that made a romantic evening with all the details. After letting us eat, you took us around the location and showed me all the details we had discussed…You made the event real and mine, reminding me that this was my night exactly as I hoped it would be. From kilts and thistles, to imported beer, to Disney music, to a topsy turvy cake, you took all of my husband’s and my crazy dreams and made them not only a coordinated reality but a perfect blend of who we at an event we could share with those we love. You saved us thousands of dollars and yet made my night more magical than I could have ever hoped.
I know you do this every week, and make all your brides feel special; but I hope that you can appreciate that for me you were my angel, the person that had everything figured out and that I could trust with all my worries. Thank you, it was amazing being your bride. I wish you and all your future brides the same bliss you have given to me and my husband.
Thank you
Lt Abel & Mary Wilson

Many blessings to you both,
Barbara
