The Pictures Band
fantastic wedding for Natalie and Wyatt at the Driskill Hotel. The band came through with a
stellar performance and the bride was over the moon excited. However, there was a
devastating situation unfolding while we were at the wedding. Byron Smith, band leader
and drummer was notified during setup that the horrific fires were threatening his home.
His band members continued on with the wedding in support of Byron and they were the
epitome of professionals. Please do what you can to help Byron who has literally lost everything.
On September 4, 2011 Byron Smith's home and entire neighborhood, near Bastrop, Texas, were destroyed by fire. Over 300 homes and 14,000 acres in the area were completely destroyed. Byron's two dogs, Flossy and Donkey, were also killed in the fire. At this point Byron has no material possessions other than the clothes on his back, his vehicle and his drum set. We were setting up for a show at the Driskill when he got the news.
In times like this we all need to come together and help each other out in any way we can.
