Wanting to get married in Austin during our peak spring or fall wedding seasons requires advance planning, which usually means planning more than a year before your preferred wedding date. My favorite weather in Austin is in April and November. The temperatures are perfect, not too hot and not too cold. So planning with Erin and Graham began 14 months before their wedding. We toured many of Austin’s indoor and outdoor options, but the only perfect fit was the pavilion at Barton Creek. They wanted a fun dance party and for their guests to enjoy great food and drinks. Thank you so much to Henry Uribe for all his help on the wedding day and Diana M. Lott for capturing all the wedding fun.

Get ready for one of my biggest photo re-caps to date. It is not every day that a bride calls you with her wedding ideas and the discussion is full of neon bar signs, colored Christmas lights hanging in the bar, wedding colors that match the Pearl Snap beer can and a roasted pig. One of the best things about planning Austin weddings is the large variety of wedding venues a short drive from downtown Austin. Dripping Springs has been called the Wedding Capital of Texas with many venues for couples to choose from. One of the newest wedding locations is The Prospect House http://www.prospecthousetx.com/category/amenities/ and it is very unique. I toured the site in March and saw it under construction, but today while visiting for a planner luncheon I definitely saw all their hard work has paid off. You can see their professional photos on the link above, but I took a few photos from the luncheon below. I wasn’t documenting the venue to show my couples since we like to tour them in person, but I did want to share a few detail shots from the luncheon today. We had wonderful vendors that sponsored the event and they are listed below.

Wishing everyone a very happy day to give Thanks. We are preparing for our busiest time of year meeting newly engaged couples. It is also a time to remember one my favorite weddings on Thanksgiving weekend with the wonderful Mela and Nathan. The ceremony and reception were at the beautiful Villa del Lago overlooking Lake Travis. The weather turned chilly, but with all the dancing, fireplace lit and portable heaters it was a perfect night.
