Spring Romance at Stephen F. Austin Downtown

Most couples know that the most popular time to get married in Austin is in the spring and fall. The weather is perfect and the venues book up very quickly. You need to book a year in advance, so if you want an April wedding you need to start no later than the previous April, if not sooner. We started looking for the perfect spring 2016 venue for Ashley and Marc in June of last year. We had our challenges finding the right Catholic Church time along with the right reception venue. Ashley and Marc really wanted their guests to enjoy all that downtown Austin has to offer. We hit a homerun with an ideal location, ballroom size and amazing balcony overlooking Congress, so it worked out to be the perfect day all around. Julie Stanfield at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel took great care of us and I am grateful we had Doberenz Photography to capture all the memories. Thanks to Allen for taking my now favorite photo of entire bridal party in the middle of Congress Ave. in front of the Capitol.

Driskill Winter Wedding Fun

Lia and Tye are such an enjoyable couple and were a good team in starting their wedding plans. They hired me eight weeks before their wedding to pull together the final vendors and wedding details at one of my favorite Austin venues, The Driskill. The groom’s parents have an amazing home near Zilker Park and hosted a wonderful rehearsal dinner on Friday night. The wedding day was crisp, but not nearly as cold as February could have been.

I love seeing all the details come together at weddings, especially when they reflect what the couple loves.  They definitely had one of the most epic cake cuttings I’ve seen in a long time, I loved their photo booth cut-outs of our favorite Texans Matthew McConaughey, BEVO and Willie Nelson not to mention the non-stop dancing thanks to Blind Date. All of these details and more were captured by the amazing Tyler Schmitt with Mill Photo Studio.

Happy 4th of July

I have always loved 4th of July. My birthday is June 30th so that kicks off the summer fun for me leading into the celebration of America’s independence. I never work on July 4th, but when my former associate planner, Natalie told me she was getting married I was over the moon happy for her regardless of the date. I wanted nothing but happiness for her and she loved the 4th of July as well which is why she picked it for her wedding to Michael. Natalie knew I would want to be there to help her as her “day of planner” and she knew I would take great care of implementing all the wedding details she had thought through so carefully. I wanted her to relax on her wedding day and she knew I would make sure her day was what she wanted. I was so thrilled with the photos that Forever Photography took on Natalie and Michael’s big day at the Union on 8th. It was a gorgeous day and I wanted to share this post as they celebrate their wedding anniversary complete with fireworks.

Four Seasons Austin Intimate Wedding

I met Zhou and Miao just three months before their preferred wedding date. I was thrilled they loved all my preferred vendors so that we could quickly create an amazing, intimate gathering of their family and friends.
